"Okay folks, in this clip, we're going to learn how to draw a Spider monkey, some of the smallest monkeys in the animal kingdom. We're going to start out by drawing some really big, these big fur, in proportion, eyes. You put them pretty close together too. And one way you can really clearly define the eyes on a Spider monkey is give them a certain degree of reflection coming from the inside of the pupils. Now actually what I'm doing here, or what I will end up doing here is, the eyes are going to be big, yes, but there's actually going to be a space surrounding the eyes that's really just meant to more be part of the fur of the body, and not necessarily be the eye itself. On a Spider monkey though, it's kind of hard to tell where this area ends and begins, so if I were you, for right now, I would just draw some big circles kind of in the middle and build off of those. A Spider monkey's got a very cute little nostril, I come in and do that, almost kind of look like a human nose. Come in here and then draw the lower part of the mouth. I'm going to draw his mouth kind of open and make it like you're making kind of an animal call. So then we'll feel like that now. The head, it's kind of pointy and then their ears, stick out just kind of almost, kind of bat shaped in a way, and if we're being true to the animal kingdom, this part of their mouth would actually be a little bit darker. I can't obviously color it in too dark or else you won't be able to see it, but that would be, a technically, a darker area of their body where the ears would be pink and the head would be white for the most part and then then on right up here, there'd be kind of a space between the lighter and darker parts of their fur. But that's roughly what a Spider monkey's head would look like, then they are not as, their limbs aren't as long, I should say, a Spider monkey. They have relatively normal size proportion in relation to the rest of them, the monkey kingdom, I would say. So, I would kind of come up here and draw their little paws. They are excellent climbers, obviously. So come in here and just draw their little paws kind of like perched, like he's ready to jump. Come in here and draw his little knee, little foot like he's ready to go. They are excellent climbers and jumpers, these monkeys. Long tail kind of coming out the back and really getting the face down is by far, the most important thing, but once you have that clearly defined, your pose, call attention to the areas of the animal that you want to call attention to, specifically in this case, the face and then the outer portions of the body. Obviously as things, you know, I'm probably drawing this monkey perched on like the ground somewhere, so you can't see like all of the details, especially in the back of him but in the front, you can see what he's doing pretty clearly. And that is how you draw a Spider monkey."
