"Do you want to know a fun way to get the kids involved in doing some chores around the house? My name is Dean Hale and I'm going to teach you how to make chore dice. Chore dice are simply dice that have a clear slate and what you do is you write your chores on them and let fate decide who's going to do the chores for that day or for that week. What you would do is you would take some oven baked clay that you can buy at your local arts and craft store. It come in various colors, white, red, and green. You would simply take the clay and you're going to put it in your hand and your going to roll it around and your going to mold it into a ball. Now this shape here is a little bit smaller than what I'm going to do but it gives you a good idea on what the process would be. You get into a ball and then you would shape it initially with your fingers getting it the shape you want. And then you can take a tool like this again bought at your local arts and craft store for a couple of bucks or even a butter knife at home. You press it down, get the sides nice and level and you basically have your die shape. After that you put it in the oven for about fifteen to twenty minutes at 250 degrees. When it comes out and what I did was I made a larger die so you could be able to write your chores on and it's also easier for kids to handle. And so lets say the chore is cleaning the dishes or putting the dishes away. You would simply take your paint pen and on that die you going to draw something that looks something like the shape of a fork for instance and they knew if they would draw come up with this it would be cleaning the dishes. So each day or each week you could have your kids roll the die have a little bit of fun with doing the chores and you can make sure they always get done. Again my name's Dean Hale. Happy chores."
