"Hi, welcome everybody, I'm Lars Erik Robinson with LarsEr Arts. All Around Art-tainment is my slogan. I started doing caricatures when I got out of art school in ninety-four. I used to work in a restaurant on the beach and instead of serving tables I started drawing people caricatures while they're waiting to eat. And one of the hardest things is with people usually is is doing the nose. And I pre-sketched out some different samples of noses here. As you notice, this can be the forehead, and there's always a bump, there's usually a bump right here on your nose. And then it comes down, and then you have the loop right here with the - where the nostril is. So profiles is a very famous one. They used to do that a lot in the seventies in the early caricatures. Now a lot of them are three quarter views or frontal, so, I did a example here of a frontal one. What you usually do is you start here on top. Figuring out where the eyes are, maybe that's where the eyebrows will be, they're hairy... and then you get the - and it comes down and then you - after you get this stroke here, you go underneath it and get these two nostrils and figure out everything on the bottom. It maybe has a slit right there, put the shadow. So that's a frontal one. I prefer doing three quarter views when I do my caricatures. It's a little bit more interesting. I can twist and turn it more so we'll usually start right here on the top and go over. Then you can - you get that bump there, and then you go down, and then you can just - I still put the slit in there but you have to have it on a slant a little bit. And then the nostril and then it comes down and you still have to remember that it comes off of here, the cheek is over here. And the eyes there. So that's a little bit of an explanation for you how to do noses, and it takes many years for you to get it down right, so just keep on drawing and enjoying it. Thank you so much."
