"Welcome everybody. My name is Lars Robinson. Today we're going to talk about how to draw with oil pastels. And oil pastels are a nice medium. It's, if you, if you're a drawer more than a painter you can still get the same feel as oils are because it kind of has; how do explain it? More of a cakey feeling to it. It's more of a, you can cake it on there like waxy look to it. So we're drawing a flower here just to give you guys a demonstration of one of my favorite flowers to do. It's kind of triangular. It has good angles and it's kind of interesting. So here's the stem. You'll wonder why it's a blue stem. Blue and green's pretty close to each other, why not. You could take the side of it and use it like that. But it's a great medium to be able to just draw with. It's a lot similar to to the crayons but it's a bit more advanced than that. Take the yellow, fill in the yellow here. You could always take the yellow; see how it's blending, blending it together if you focus in on this now this is a great example of how pastels work. It's blending those. Going into the green and blending it together. Once again we do it on this side. It's taking; it's picking up the green and kind of merging it together with the yellow. Very vibrant, it's very good. If we had more time here I would have be able to show you a bit more but maybe if we take this red on this outside here and we'll finish it all the way. But we'll... It's nice just to leave the texture of this. See that gives you different ideas on how to, how to use it and how you can blend it with the tool. So hope that helps you guys understand how to use it more. But just all I do, all I can tell you guys is if you buy it, pick up a set of pastels and just experiment with it. That's the only way you can learn anything is by experimenting and having fun with it. And just keep doing it. Thank you so much."
