Illustration and drawing are visual arts that makes use of any number of instruments to mark a two-dimensional medium. Design elements are central, and artists attempt to find balance in line, values and contrast. Common instruments for drawing and illustrating include graphite pencils, pen and ink, inked brushes, wax color pencils, crayons, charcoals, chalk, pastels and markers. An artist or animator traditionally sketches pictures out roughly in pencil before going over them in black ink or giving them to a colorist. In this free video series, an illustrator and caricaturist provides drawing tips and demonstrates how to draw faces in caricature art. Discover how to draw people, how to draw with oil pastels, how to shade and how to use pastel pencils. Find out how to draw the eyes, nose, mouth, ears and hair in caricatures as well. With these drawing and illustration tips, any artist will be able to fine tune their techniques.
"Welcome everybody. My name is Lars-Erik Robinson. And my company is LarsEr Arts All Around Art-Tainment. That's my slogan for my, my company. And anyway, today we're going to talk about how we draw people and what the basics for how to draw people are. I'm going to leave this as simple as I can. Don't think that I just draw stick people, but I'm going to explain to you guys how you do it. If you have the head right here, and this is the center and that's where you have the eyes at, the nose, the mouth and the skull's usually right behind there. So we're going to leave the face really un, untouched. So you have about six heads and one body. So you count down one, two, three. That'll be his middle part. So there's one, two, three, that's how many parts you have until you get to your center of your body. And then we have usually another three more down after that. So you take the head shape, one, two, three. So by this middle of that you have your ankles and your legs. Here's the arms and the arms are just as long as the shoulders. Why can't he have a little curl on his head like that, right guys? Have fun. It's what it's all about. Put some, so here's his, well you don't have breasts, don't be thinking like that. He has muscles right? Belly button right there. Little six pack. Speedo. Because we can't draw him naked, we don't know who's seeing this. Alright that's how you draw a person so, now this is not a caricature so obviously they're not going to have a huge hair like on caricatures are when I do those. And they'll have six heads per body. And you'd count one, two, three and then so on. So I hope that explains to you guys how to do bodies, human bodies. Thank you so much."
