"In this clip, we'll be discussing hair care products, styling products, and after care. We've already completed Chris's haircut now. We've removed the length, we've created the shape that we want, and we've texturized to remove the bulk. With his hair texture, again you can see it's just a little puffier, a little fuller than what we want. We have three choices of pomades to choose from. One is an oil based pomade, and what that would do is add an element of shine, as well as a little bit of control. And it's going to put a little bit of weight on the hair to help hold it down. Another choice would be an actual wax. And this product, this particular product actually needs to be heated up with the blow dryer, otherwise it's just really too thick to apply. This is going to give more of an effect that he might want to use on the weekends or when he's going out. Might not be appropriate for the office. The last choice that we have is a product that has absolutely no oil in it whatsoever, and therefore it creates a very matte finish. It also is going to give the control, and put a little bit of weight on the hair without adding the shine, which he may not want for day. So we're just going to apply a small amount, about that, to just your fingers, and we're going to work it into the palms, almost as if you were applying hand lotion to the inside of your hands. Once it's evenly distributed, then we're just going to use our hands and fingertips as our tool, and we're just going to very softly kind of rake it through. This is something that we're really just applying more so to the surface. We don't necessarily want to work it all the way down into the root area of the hair, into the scalp. But rather, we just want to glaze it over the top layer just to control the fly aways, and to keep the sides from poking out."
