Video Transcript

"Hi, my name is Windy St. George, and this is how to take temperature of a baby or toddler. I find it easiest to use an ear thermometer, much less sketchy than the rectal thermometer. So you take the thermometer and turn it on and you just place it in their ear. Push start, there, done. Ninety-nine point five, you're a little warm. Most ear thermometers come with disposable sleeves so that you can keep the hygienic and use them for various members of the family. When you're going to use the thermometer, first turn it on, they often have a memory for the last time you took the temperature so you can track the fever, if the baby has a fever. So you turn it on, you place it in the ear, and then you push this button and it'll flash while it's taking the temperature and then the light will go off and it will beep when it's done. It's a pretty quick process, quick and painless."
