"My name is Windy St. George, and this is how to give your baby his first haircut. First, you should make sure that the baby is distracted and not turning his head around too much. A good television show that he likes works pretty well. Then, wet the head completely. And then comb the hair. If you're going to do bangs, like I'm going to, you comb them forward and then comb everything else straight down. So you need a pair of sharp, small scissors. You can get this at any drug store. Put the bangs out, and then carefully cut the bangs even. Then you can use the bangs to measure the rest of the hair, so that it's all the same height. So you kind of hold it there and snip it. Now, the back of the head. A good rule for a boy's haircut; a girl, you just need to trim the bangs, pretty much, and let the rest go; is to have one finger-length of hair on the bottom. Then, you have to separate it into three batches. There's the top of the head, which forms at the crown, which you can feel the bone sticking there. And then there's the middle section and the bottom section. The bottom section should be one finger-length deep. So you just put your fingers there and cut downward. The middle section should be two finger-lengths. And two or three on the top. One, two, create straight line around the hairline and around the ears. Always cutting in a downward motion, so it will look more natural when the hair's dry. Then go through the hair and make sure that it's all even, that your layers are even with themselves. And that's how you give a child's haircut."
