"To be a democrat from my perspective is a person who looks at government to solve problems, and tries to see government as the ultimate solution for most things. I'll go first of all to health insurance. How do we solve our health insurance crisis? To me the democrats look at a national health insurance program, republicans try to look at something that tries to empower the private sector and empower individuals to do it. How we're going to solve that problem? I don't know. The other part of the democratic party as I take a look at it, is that they tend to be more liberal and look much more from a socialistic view in terms of governments responsibilities to take care of people, as appose to peoples responsibilities to take care of themselves. Republicans look at trying to empower an individual, having a safety net, understanding it's there, but to get them back on their feet as quickly as possible. I see a socialistic point of view being much more prevalent within the democratic party, which is something I don't believe works, with the way that you need to try to make a system operate and function appropriately."
