"Next, we're going to park on a hill. There's really only a couple things that you need to remember when parking on a hill. Assuming you're pulling off to the right side, which is where you're normally going to park, you're going to pull over near the curb -- as near as you can get -- and then you're going to put your emergency brake on, put this car on park, put the emergency brake on. And then you need to remember to turn your wheels toward the curb so that when you get out and shut off the car, if the emergency brake were to fail for whatever reason, then the car, if it were to roll, would roll into the curb. And that would most likely be enough to stop it from rolling any further. Now, if you were parking, instead of facing downhill like we are here, if you were parking facing uphill, you would turn your wheels toward the street. That way, the backs of your tires would be facing towards the curb. And if your car started to roll, it would, again, roll into the curb and keep you from rolling down the hill."
