"So you've decided to host a Christmas dinner at your home this season. Hi. I'm Jessica Meiczinger with Simply Divine Events and I'm going to talk about some tips and ideas on how to host a Christmas dinner at your home. First of all, you want to get rid of all your Thanksgiving and fall decorations and bring out your holiday decorations and place them throughout the house. For your centerpieces for your tables you can do urns filled with Christmas ornaments, pine cones and berries. You can do just stuff that you have around the house for the holidays. Sleighs and baskets filled with stuff like that as well. For serving purposes you want to get some platters that are festive such as the red ones we have here. Do different shapes and sizes to mix it up a little bit. You can even do bring in silvers and golds if you'd like. You can do a nice menu. You can do something a little informal or formal. You can do appetizers and just have your hors d'oeuvres and maybe some desserts. Or, you could do something maybe a little more formal. You could do a buffet or seated dinner and actually serve it on your Christmas dinnerware. You can rent it or if you have stuff that you've had throughout the years you can use that as well. And then make sure you have a well stocked bar and offer beer and wine. Definitely wine with dinner. And just have some champagne on hand if anybody would like to have a toast or it's just a nice little libation to add to the party.
