"Hi, I'm Natanya Nielsen from Saratoga Springs. We're talking about crochet basics today. One of the most important things is how to hold a crochet hook. There are a couple different ways. You can hold it like a pencil, or, like you would hold a knife as you are cutting your meat. I hold my hook like I would a knife. This works very easy for me. However, if I were to hold it like a pencil, that's a lot more awkward, and I'm not as comfortable with that position. But, it can be done, and it can be learned. Another thing, find out which hand is more comfortable for you. If you are a left-handed person, writer, you may prefer to crochet with your left hand, and hold your yarn in your right hand."
