Hello I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to answer the question how to file a lawsuit for slander. Well first of all it's important to remember that slander is a form of oral or spoken defamation. And basically defamation is basically a false statement about another person to a third person that causes a person harm, injury to their reputation. Injury to their ability to engage in their occupation. It's a very, very complex and comprehensive area of the law. The laws regarding slander are going to vary from state to state so it's very important to know what your particular states laws regarding slander and defamation say. We would strongly recommend that if you are considering filing a lawsuit for slander that you seek the services of a lawyer that specializes in personal injury and defamation type cases.
