Computers are very complex machines and a variety of things can go wrong at any time so knowing how to troubleshoot possible causes of problems is important to every computer owner. "Hi, I'm Chris Bryce, from SuperService.com. Let's talk about how to decide whether or not to replace or repair a computer. In looking at the choice between replacing or repairing your computer, the main factors to consider are, how old the computer is, and if you've had any other problems, or expect to have any other problems, as well as what the repair itself involves. First, if you've owned the computer for more than two or three years, chances are there will be other things that will begin to fail on the computer, so you may want to look at deciding to go with a new system. If you've only had it awhile, and you want to decide whether or not to replace it, the main thing to look at is what that repair is going to involve. If you've had a problem, where you have to replace the hard drive, for instance. Well, the hard drive replacement is going to involve purchasing the hard drive, having the repair shop install the hard drive. Then, you're going to have the repair shop install your software on that hard drive, and possibly try to transfer any files from your old hard drive, to the new one, and when it's all said and done, you're spending several hundred dollars to get this hard drive replaced, when other things on the system may fail later, or the fact that the computer itself can be replaced, for just a little bit more than that repair investment was. Also, if you're looking at the fact that the computer has been for instance, dropped, and you're not really sure what's wrong, and you have it checked out because there are a couple of things that aren't working. There may be other things that are inevitably going to fail, after that drop, so you may want to look at replacing the computer, to save yourself the amount of money that you're going to spend on the future repairs to it, that may come pretty soon. Those are the main things to consider, when you're trying to decide whether to replace or repair your computer."
