"My name is Contessa Hunziger. I am a LPN and I work for Heartland Occupational Medicine and some of the home health careers that they have out there right now, one of them is hospice which that is what happens when a patient is on their death bed, the doctor decides that there is nothing more that can be done for them so Hospice provides care for them until the end to keep them comfortable if they have any tubes, wires or things like that. They keep those monitored and it helps the family with the death and dying because that is difficult for anybody but if it is a long time coming then it is even more difficult and then of course the Home Health. If somebody goes home after they have been in a hospital and have any types of tubes or bags, wounds anything like that that need to be taken care of the Home Health Nurse goes in and provides that care, that comfort. There are some who also provide like the cleaning of the house if they are disabled and not able to get up they provide them with meals, clean their house, help them with bathing, activities of daily living, that is pretty much what they help them with so that is pretty much what a Home Health nurse does. Thank you for watching again."
