How to Buy a Used Piano

"Hi, my name is Athena Reich and I'm a singer, song writer and music coach here in New York City. In this clip, I'm going to talk about how to buy a used piano. There are tons of used pianos for sale on a popular website such as Craig's list. There's also pianos for sale on eBay. But how do you discern, what is a good piano? What's worth its money? Well, you can always do Internet searches and you know, Google the make and the year and the model. And find out you know, what stores are charging for the price. But really you've got to go. And you've got to take a look at each and every piano that you're considering. And not only that, but you've got hire a tuner to go with you. To these people's houses. Once you've decided a piano is something that you're looking for. Hire that tuner for maybe three different pianos to compare. Because there can be a cracked board in the back. The back board could be cracked. And that piano will be no good. There could be wiring and strings. And things are just so broken that they're beyond. Or the repair will be so expensive. So definitely hire a professional. And then feel free to search places like Craig's list. This is Athena Reich with how to buy a used piano."
