"Hi I'm Robert. Now we are going to show you how to change an IP address. Windows XP is a trademark of Microsoft and I am not in any way affiliated with Microsoft. How to change an IP address. To change an IP address go to start control panel, and look for network and internet connections. Click on that. And select network connections. Here you have a wireless connection in a local area connection. Lets go to a local area connection, right click on it, go to properties. And under your local area connection properties scroll down until you find internet protocol tcpip. Highlight that, click on properties and most computers are set to obtain an IP address automatically otherwise known as DHCP. For changing your IP address it's either you are going to use that as a server or as a dedicated resource for some sort of an application. So normally you would get that IP address that static IP address from your network administrator. Most people on home computers do not need static IP you would just need the DHCP which is the automatic IP assignment. Now just to show you how to change the IP address and make it static click on the radio button that says use the following IP address. On the IP address type in the IP address of, for example lets choose one nine two dot one five eight dot zero dot one o three. On the subnet mask you can put two five five, two five five, two five five dot zero. That's fine that's the default subnet mask. And under default gateway again you know your administrator will provide you this information. In my case I would put down one nine two dot one five eight dot zero dot one. When you are complete click on ok. And after you click ok. Go out of it, restart your computer and the next time it boots up it will be using this static IP address that you just added in there."
