"You have the sniffles again huh? I'm Dr. Savage. I'm an osteopathic family practice physician in Tampa. You're wondering how to get over a cold. If it is just the common cold try over-the-counter medicines such as decongestants without any contraindications of course or expectorants. One of my favorites is Guafenacin that helps thin out the snot in the nasal passage. In order to get that out also you have to be well hydrated so drink lots of fluids, get plenty of rests and another thing that can help is nasal saline spray. It might seem a little funny at first but getting the saline spray in the nasal area will keep the mucous membranes there well hydrated and will allow that nasty stuff to get out and that will make you feel better much faster. That's pretty much it. I'm Dr. Savage and I wish you the best of health."
