It's flu season again, and you forgot to get your flu shot, and you have the flu. I'm Doctor Savage. I'm an osteopathic family practice physician in Tampa. You're probably wondering, "How do you get over the flu as fast as possible?" First of all, I must say that if your symptoms have only been going on a day or so, get in to see your doctor right away. There's an anti-viral medicine that can greatly decrease the time course. If you miss that window, whether or not you've seen the physician, it's gonna....it's going to be a tough time sticking it out. Most importantly, get lots and lots of rest. Increase your oral intake as you're able to tolerate it, including, starting with sips of clear liquids, and progressing to Grandmom's soup.
