"This memorial on the grounds of the Texas State Capitol is dedicated to Terry's Texas Rangers. Made of bronze, it depicts a Texas Ranger on horseback. Designed by Pompeo Coppini, it was erected in 1907. The Texas Rangers were staunched defenders of the South during the Civil War and since has involved into an elite group of law enforcement."
