How to Find a Babysitting Job

"Hi, my name is Andrea Orta Mashburn, and today I'm going to discuss, how to find babysitting jobs. One of the first ways you can advertise to find a babysitting job, is simply by putting out flyers. Sometimes passing them out in your local neighborhood, will be a great incentive, for you to find that first babysitting job. Another way to find jobs, is to go online. Looking at search engines, such as Craigslist, would be a great opportunity to not only post your own ad, but also find advertisements for babysitting services. Make sure also, that if you post an ad, you put your number, and your email, so that the people can contact you, at their earliest convenience. If you're finding a babysitting job online, and you come across one, make sure to immediately email those parents, or if given the number, make sure to call it right away. Many times, finding that first babysitting job, is simply going to be because you were the first one available. When you locate a job online, make sure to check references. It's ok to check references. Make sure it's a legitimate job. If you have to call the number and ask for references, it' ok. Most people won't be surprised that you're doing this. They understand that you're a young man or a young lady, and that safety has to be our number one priority. If a family is unwilling to provide references, simply move on. It's ok to move on. Just because the ad is there, doesn't mean you have to take it. Newspapers are also a great way to find jobs. Simply pick up a newspaper, and thumb through the advertisements. Sometimes parents will advertise that they need a babysitter, and also put specific times that they're looking for. If you don't happen to come across any advertisements like this, feel free to put your own in. Once again, if you placed an ad in a paper, keep it short, and keep it simple. This is because you're paying for each word, so simply advertise what you want to tell them, that you're a babysitting service, put your phone number in there, and a time in which you're available to talk to them, so remember, be dependable, be safe, and always be on time."
