"Hi, my name is Andrea Orta Mashburn, and today I'm going to discuss, what things to do when babysitting. One of the simplest things to do when babysitting, is to play to color. Go to the child's room, find markers, crayons, or other utensils, as well as their coloring books. This allows them to work on motor skill development, as well as having fun. Make sure that you also color with them. This tells them that you're willing to do the activity too. Many times you'll begin coloring, and they'll want to assist you. Let them. If they want to trade pictures, let them. Make sure that you're just allowing that child to have fun, and express themself by coloring. Other activities that you may want to do, may simply just involve the toys in their room. Look around their room. See what toys excite them. If they particularly have dress up clothes, playing dress up may also be an activity, that you may want to do with them. Make sure of all things, that the toys that they play with are safe, and that they can enjoy them with you, and with others. It's also important, that every once in a while, you may want to plan a special activity, to do with the child. Bring some pasta from home, and some construction paper. Allow them to paste the pasta on the construction paper. This once again, works on motor development skills, and it also gives them a really neat art project. Sometimes by just introducing something new, the children will be fascinated with it. It will not only take up a little bit of time, but it will also make an enjoyable activity. Other activities can simply involve some of the food that they may have around the house. Find a banana, or another soft fruit, and have them help you make a fruit salad. Give them a plastic knife, and allow them to cut. Once again, this activity works with their motor developmental skills. Also, it's a safe activity. By introducing fruits for the first time, some of the children may be entitled to eat them. This is also promoting a very healthy diet. Sometimes simply by taking ownership, a child will be more encouraged to eat that particular fruit, so in ending, guys remember, be dependable, be safe, and always be on time."
