"Hi, this is Laura Turner, and today, I want to talk with you about what to do at a book club meeting. So, you just joined your new book club, and you just picked up the first book that you're going to be reading for that club. What you're first going to of course want to do is read through the entire book. Read the book beforehand, and then, go prepared with that book in your hand so that you can actually refer to it while you're talking with other people, because the purpose of a book club is to create a group of people who are reading together since reading is often a very solitary thing that you just do by yourself. And you try to talk about it with other people, but they are not reading the same thing that you're reading so it's very hard. So, a book club can actually help you very much when you want to discuss reading with other people. So, make sure you've read the book. Make sure you've taken notes, either in the book or outside of the book; if you don't want to mess up your book, on everything that you find interesting about the book and all the questions that you have about it, so that you'll have something to participate, something to help you participate in the book club meeting. And finally, just share your ideas about the book, and be very candid with these people because they are the people who have read the book with you for this certain purpose, to come in and talk about it. So, don't be afraid to mention absolutely anything to them, and everything everything that you say will make it more interesting, so have fun."
