"Hi, this is Laura Turner, and today I'm going to talk with you about how to write an agreement. If you've ever seen Judge Judy on TV, you'll know that if you make a loan with someone you're going to want to have it in writing because as she says, it's not a loan if it's not written down. So it's a good skill for you to have to actually be able to write an agreement between two people in a formal style. First of all, have it written down in the exact terms of the agreement. I, you know, Nancy will loan the sum of five thousand dollars to you, John, and will be expected to have it paid back by this date. So, whether it's a loan, or a sale, you can have agreement with a sale, you can have an agreement with many different things. Have the exact terms written down. When you get to the bottom of the agreement, actually, date it, and sign it with both parties involved in the agreement, or just the person who the item was sold to if it's a sakes agreement. Then, a very good thing for you to do is to make copies of this original agreement. And put those copies away for your own use just in case something ad happens with the sale or the loan. And finally, create an envelope for the original document, and put your document into the envelope, and send it to yourself, and have it sealed, do not open it unless you ever need it for any reason, to take it to court, or to do anything with it other than that. So, that's basically how you will draw up an agreement."
