"How to give a Shiatsu Massage. Of all body work techniques, Shiatsu is commonly known to westerners as acupressure which isn't completely accurate because acupressure is usually needle pressure and there is no needles used in Shiatsu. You use the thumbs, heels of the hands, elbows, knees, and even feet. Shiatsu is usually done on a mat on the floor and the client is always clothed. Different points along the body are compressed which we work along the meridians of the body and working with the client's chi, energy points. Often times a lot of the work is done on the soles of the feet and other acupressure points along the body that stimulate different healing."
