"In this clip, we're going to learn how to choose a high-speed Internet access method. I'm neither employed by or affiliated with any of the Internet websites or products that we're demonstrating today. Okay. Here, we've pulled up a page -- one of many -- that compares the different kinds of access services -- dial-up, DSL, cable, and satellite. And we're going to look to try and find one of the faster services available in our area and then compare price. Okay. One of the first things that we're going to do is to look at the various wireless Internet providers in our area that might have services that would meet our needs. A check at Yahoo brings up a number of different providers, and in this case, we're going to go and review services offered by Verizon. At the Verizon site, we're going to look at some of the issues that they're going to be discussing as far as importance and their service to you as a user. One of the key things, of course, is speed. Here, we're seeing that they offer the broadband speeds of up to 1.4 megabytes per second, which is pretty fast. In fact, it's equivalent to DSL. And then we're going to go down and look at the coverage map to see if our area is included in the service plan. And that's how you choose a high-speed access method."
