"Hi this is Yolanda Vanveen from Vanveen bulbs dot com. To grow hanging plants indoors you have to have a few things. And number one is you have to have at least a little bit of light. You can not have them in dark, dark rooms because they just won't grow at all. The next thing that you need is water. Because they do hang, it's hard for them to keep enough water inside. So my trick with my hanging plants is I throw them in the shower and they seem to love to take a shower. And that way the leaves get cleaned off and they can have their pores exposed and they won't be clogged. And they can get a lot of fresh water and they soak and they can also really soak the water so that it drains out a lot of the salts and the different types of contaminants that might hurt it at the end. So hanging plants are so easy. I found the only way that you can kill them is by not watering them at all, or watering them too much. Or not giving them enough light. They do really well in this east facing window because they get lots of sun in the morning and then not a lot of sun in the afternoon. And this plant I probably haven't watered as well as I should have and it has survived. Such a neat plant. So periodically I'll have a few of the leaves will die and turn yellow so I just cut those leaves out and then they'll just keep growing new ones. So indoor hanging plants are really easy to grow. You just got to make sure that you have enough light for them, and you water them enough. And never let them sit in water because if they sit in water, the roots will rot and then you will lose them. They are so easy to grow and take care of and they are such a joy to have in the house."

on 8/7/2009 Yolanda you'll have to forgive me if you receive this twice. But I tried to write a post and i was asked to create and account. Once I did, I don't know what happened. I have a boston fern in a hanging pot. my apartment is exceptionally hot. I understand that hanging it where heat rises, might not be good. I get lots of dry leaves showering to the floor (but also nice strong fronds coming in). Nothing I did helped so I moved it from the ceiling hook to an ottoman. It seems to be doing better. My question is, do you think the pot hanging thing is too short. It doesn't drop the plant down far enough into window. Would you hang a boston fern in the same spot as the plant you have in this video.
