"Hi, I'm Judy Carrier, with Jewels by Park Lane. I'm going to talk to you about selling used jewelry. Gently used jewelry, I would hope, because that's going to have the most value. If you have a piece that you've inherited from someone, it'd be nice if you have the history of it, it could add to it's value. You need to know the type of stone or metal and that will also, determine what you can get for it. When you're selling used jewelry you have to realize that most companies will only give you the value of the gold or the silver, the metal if it's the majority. Some will purchase something just because it's a real stone. And then there are others that will select a piece because it has a unique look, or it's vintage, or it is something that is unusual and you can't find in the local stores. So, you have to shop around and find which store would best suit the piece of jewelry you're selling. You can, also, do this old standby yard sale, putting it on line, showing it to friends and family at jewelry show. The easiest way is just polishing it up and showing it around. Again, yard sale or to one of the stores, you have to shop around, though, because their going to give you different prices. I'm Judy Carrier with Jewels by Park Lane, and I wish you much success selling your used jewelry."
