"Hi, my name is Windy St. George, and this is how to establish a feeding schedule, with your newborn. Most newborns need to be fed, every two to three hours, so when you're making a schedule, first start with the feeding, and write it down in a notebook, when you fed the baby. Since the baby just takes a little bit of milk, or breast milk, and falls asleep, you should wake the baby up. They need to finish their bottle, usually two to three ounces for a newborn, or to be breastfeeding for a minimum amount of time, like five minutes, empty at least one side, so that the baby has enough food, otherwise if she goes to sleep, before she drinks enough milk, she'll just wake up again pretty soon, so once the baby is fed and drank enough, try to keep the baby awake, for a small amount of time, at least a few minutes, and you can go for longer stretches of wakefulness, as baby gets older. Then, let the baby go to sleep, and see how long she normally naps. Babies normally feed every two to three hours, although they sometimes can sleep through the night, four or five hours, but you shouldn't let it go longer than that, because the baby needs to take in more calories, to grow."
