"Hi everyone, this is Chris Markowski, president of Markowski Investments and host of The Watchdog on Wall Street radio show. Here to talk about FINRA. What's FINRA? Well, you see it on your account statements. You see on the bottom of those little disclaimers, that are at that really, really microscopic type print that you see at the end of things. Well, FINRA is a self regulatory body. It used to be called The NASDAQ, remember that? The NASD, The National Association of Security Dealers, well now it's The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. They basically do the same thing. They just went through a little free make-over, changed their hair and logo, and did stuff like that. Basically, self regulatory body, oversees stock brokers, and trading around the country. If you happen to get into a dispute with your stock broker, your stock broker doing a little churning and burning that he shouldn't be doing, well, when you complain, you complain to them. And then they handle the whole arbitration proceedings that go through. FINRA, looking out for you, I guess. This is Chris Markowski, your Watchdog on Wall Street."
