How to Write an Objective for a Resume

"Writing an objective statement for your resume is important. Take some time and get it right. I'm Gloria Campbell with Advantage Training Systems located in St. Petersburg, Florida. Writing your objective statement should take some time. And I'm going to ask you to really work on that, you write it once, you'll review it, write it again, review it and have someone else take a look at it. And make sure that it is clearly communicating what you want to say. An objective statement is really your marketing piece. It's saying who you are, what you want to accomplish and where. So you can tailor it to a job, you can tailor it to a particular position or you could just tailor it to what it is you want to accomplish. Shy away from saying in five years or ten years here is where I want to be. An employer is really looking for what do you want to be today. So include those action words, make it very personal, write it and re-write it. And make sure that it clearly conveys what your objective is in writing this resume and submitting it.
