Summary: Painting the milk carton windmill body covers up the milk carton labels and creates a cohesive design for the project as a whole. Paint the milk carton windmill with tips from a crafts enthusiast in this free video on children's crafts.
"Now, let's go ahead and paint our milk carton which is going to be the body of the windmill. While we've been making all these preparations, the milk carton was drying. The base coat on top of the milk carton was drying. So, it was good that we did that part first and now we can go ahead and cover the milk carton. We see that the base coat did not cover totally. It did not erase everything that's on the carton but it gave us the layer that let us lay the paint over the top and what was underneath the actual graphics and the colors of the milk carton don't shine through. We also can see the importance of organizing your project because we see that there are a lot of different steps and things need to dry. Things need to be prepared. So, it's always good to have these things in mind to lay out all your steps before you start your project and you can get a nice idea of how to go about and plan your project which steps do first and how to save time especially when you're dealing with kids. Kids can get bored and loose attention very quickly. Basically, following the steps that we've done, you can pretty much have a nice organized plan of how to do the project which steps due first, when to let things dry and if it's plan out properly, you always have an opportunity to be busy. The kids will always be busy working because when one steps is being prepared or being set to dry, you can always go to right into the next step and everything will be always be in a ready state to continue working. So, we see the paint go nice and clean. You don't see anything else underneath. Now, you can use different colors and put different colors on different sides of the windmill. Being that we use the match sticks which I have a lot of color in them, we don't want to use too many colors on the milk carton itself. It kind of gets too busy and a little bit distracting. So, we using a solid color on the milk carton and we'll also be putting some other decorations on the milk carton that will add some color to the solid color paint we're giving it."
