"When storing your wine you want to maintain an even and steady temperature, somewhere between 48 and 62 degrees. This will prevent your wine from baking and subsequently having a milky white scum sitting on the top of it and a very foul order. At the same time, you want to serve your white wines a little bit colder than room temperature and your red wines just, just below room temperature. The white wine will appear chilled, the red wine will appear somewhat lukewarm but you will get the full version of their flavors this way. There are many great storage devices for home wine storage, many of which are refrigerated like this cooler behind me here. They will maintain an even and steady temperature without allowing humidity changes or excess heat or cold to destroy your wine."
