"This is Richard Goms and we are in Salt Lake City, Utah and we are talking about hard drive basics. I want to tell you a little bit about how to reformat a disc. There may come a time when you want to remove all the data from a hard drive so it cannot be recovered. There is a free program called killdisc.com and you can go on that internet page and download that free program, create a bootable CD, load it into your computer, boot from it and then you can reformat the hard drive so it removes much more effectively than clean or wipe or shred all the data from your hard drive. This process takes about an hour and once it is done your hard drive will be completely clean and ready to put new data on it."
