"Hi, my name's Veronica Baragas with mywigglesandgiggles.com and I'm going to share with you a few questions to ask when hiring a nanny. So you know, there's a detailed, there could be a detailed list a super long list of questions to ask. I think I'm just going to go over some of the crucial questions. First and foremost you want to establish you know, their experience, their background, references, you know the basics of what kind of hours can they work, when can they start. You know, what is their philosophy and discipline as far as guidelines go for you know, your kids. What do they enjoy doing on their spare time. What type of activities do they engage in. You know, are they out of school, what type of school are they going in, what type of future they're going to have. You know it's not just important for you to find out whether they're qualified to take children, you know take care of children. But you want to make sure that this is somebody that's going to be able to you know, blend in with your family and become part of the family. Because they are taking a big responsibility and you know, helping you raise your children as a nanny. So you know, just kind of getting to know them, what do they like to do, you know, where do they come from, what is their family like, what is their home life like. And you know, sometimes it can get a little personal but guess what, you know when they're a nanny and they're taking care of your kids, it gets very personal. So make sure that you can find out as much possible without you know, without being too you know, stepping on the toes or whatnot. Just ask the basic questions. Like I said, where they come from, what kind of job are they looking for, what are their long term goal. You know, what kind of activities would they engage in with your children, how much experience do they have, what have other nanny jobs been like for them, what kind of pay are they looking for, what kind of hours are they looking for. I mean it's basically up to you to find out and to screen these nannies to make sure that you get the best nanny for you and your family. So get to know them and just ask those basic questions that you want to know and that involve taking care of your kids."
