How to Select Eye Makeup That Compliments African American Coloring

"Hi this is Irma Benavidez with Simply Beautiful in Austin, Texas I'm here today to show you how to select eye makeup that will compliment African American skin tones. So today we chose two shades of color cools, and warms. Now I chose this medium violet here to apply on Ali. This color I'm sweeping across the eyelid it's a shade that compliments her skin tone very well because it's vibrant without having to add too too much makeup. A common problem with African American skin tones is once you apply eyeshadow it immediately disappears into the skin, this particular color open up your eye, gives a complete contrast it's vibrant it's violet and it compliments her brown eyes. And I also chose warms for her other eye. A shimmering brown with gold tones since Ali has a warm skin tone the golds in it will pick up on her beautiful brown eyes. And the deep color of her skin, these are loose eye shadows so I'm tapping across the eyelid, and then patting in with my fingertip. The browns, and the golds are awesome for African American skins look up, because they highlight and give a beautiful healthy shine. Now rose tones are also a great color that compliment deeper skin types and tones. I'm going over her eye and then tapping it in this will highlight, her eyebrow. And blend the eye shadows beautifully, lastly I'm choosing a pure gold eyeshadow. Tapping it right under her eyebrow bringing it around and highlighting this part of her eye, open your eye and look up. In deep skin tones highlighting the eyes is really important. It draws balance to the face and shows that you really are wearing a warm beautiful eye makeup look. So that is how you select the correct eye makeup for African American skin tones."
