"Okay, today we're going to talk about how to prepare for waxing. And there's really three simple steps that you can follow to make sure that your waxing is going to be very successful. First of all, dependent upon where you're going to be waxed it's important that about two to three days prior generally to forty-eight hours it's a good time to do this, exfoliate the area that will be waxed. So especially if you're dealing with like the bikini, the legs, the underarms, and you can use something very gentle such as a facial scrub or a sugar scrub or even a sea salt scrub if it's on your legs and you can tolerate the salt. If you have very sensitive skin I suggest sticking to the sugar scrub or to the facial scrub. By doing this you're going to remove excess skin, dead cells that are built up. You're going to get anything out of the way and you're going to open up follicles where hair may be kind of wanting to come to the surface or maybe a little bit ingrown, so that when your waxing appointment comes you'll be able to maximize the amount of hair that's removed. The next thing that you should do is make sure that your skin is moisturized properly, at least twenty-four hours before the appointment. The day of the appointment you do not, at least twelve hours before the appointment, you don't want to be putting any moisturizer, any cosmetics, you don't want to do any exfoliating that close to the appointment, and the reason is because waxing is something that is going to cause a little turmoil to the surface of the skin. So if you're going to do some sort of exfoliation it has to be done like I said forty-eight hours prior, because when you do the waxing on top of the exfoliating, you can cause yourself actual burns and you can actually remove layers of skin, if you don't inform the technician that for you, that you have done these procedures. And the third thing is after you have been waxed, you want to make sure that the skin that's being waxed does not receive any cosmetics, any types of chemicals, stick with the botanical type moisturizers, something with tea tree oil in it, that will calm the redness and soothe that skin that's kind of angry after being waxed, and you want to follow this for at least twenty-four hours."
