"You survived the interview. Now, how do you make yourself stand out? I'm Gloria Campbell with Advantage Training Systems in St. Petersburg, Florida, telling you how to write an interviewing thank you note. The first thing you want to do is make sure that you have some nice stationary. Invest in some stationary. You can get it from any office supply store with nice envelopes. And you'll begin by making sure you date it as a reminder, kind of, what day you had your interview. If the interviewer said, "Call me John," then you may say "Dear John". If not, address them by their last name, "Dear Mr. Jones". And you want to say, "I thank you for the opportunity to interview for (the position)." You may give them a little bit of a reminder of who you were. "My past experience in this type of sales would lend itself very nicely to XYZ Company and I'm really looking forward to interviewing or getting to the next step." And then you sign it. Make sure that you always send a thank you, written if at all possible. Email thank-yous are acceptable, but make sure that in the address line that you put some pertinent information. And you really have no way of knowing whether it's going to get to the individual that you interviewed with. I'm Gloria Campbell with Advantage Training Systems in St. Petersburg, Florida. Always send an interviewing thank you. It keeps your name in front of the potential employer."
