"So, you've decided to plan a cocktail party. I'm Jessica Meisinger and I'm going to tell you how to be the hostess with the "mostess" planning your next cocktail party in your home. First of all, you want to make sure you greet your guests and have just a fun, laid-back atmosphere when they arrive. Also, you want to make sure you have everything on hand that you need to host a cocktail party such as your glass wear. You want to make sure you have your rocks glasses and different glasses for making and mixing different cocktails. Also, if you're hiring a bartender or if you or your friends are the bartender or it's self serve, have some fun drink mixes on hand such as your drink dictionaries or your ten thousand drinks. Just to add, so people can try some different things. You also want to make sure you have your bar well stocked with the appropriate mixers as well as the appropriate liquors. First we'll start off with the bar. You want to make sure you have all your supplies on hand such as your cocktail shaker and strainer for making your mixed drinks and martinis. You also want to make sure you have a beer bottle opener to get the caps off. Also, your shot glasses, jiggers. You might actually want to have a few cocktail shakers out so people can make different drinks simultaneously. You also want to make sure you have the appropriate liquors on hand, you want to make sure you have your rums, whiskeys, vodka, gin, tequila. You might want to have some champagne, wine, some import brews. You also want to, if you're having some dessert as well you want to bring out your cordials such as Chambord, Amaretto, Frangelica. Also, provide appropriate mixers and drinks for those who don't necessarily drink alcohol such as your bottled water. For your mixers, some already come premixed like your strawberry daiquiri mix, bloody Mary mixes. Pina Colada you can buy these on the shelf. Your soft drinks to mix with rums and vodkas such as Sprite, Coke, tonic, club soda. Also, make sure you have on hand garnishes as well to garnish the drinks like your cherries, your limes and lemon slices and olives for your martinis. Those are just some tips and helpful ideas on how to be the hostess with the "mostess" for your next cocktail party."
