Series Summary

As 'man's best friend,' there is a welcomed obligation for pet owners to care for their dogs, and every pet owner knows that this can be a full-time job. Our dogs lovingly weave their way into families, and much like a child that encounters the occasional accident, dogs can find their way into trouble as well. With that in mind, it's important to take care of dogs through grooming, veterinarian visits, health, nutrition, exercises and proper training. A healthy and happy dog usually makes for a happy pet owner. In this free video series, a veterinarian provides advice on breeding schnauzers and buying Irish wolfhound puppies. Discover what age is old enough to start breeding schnauzers and where Irish wolfhound puppies can be found and bought. With these tips, dog lovers will be prepared to find and breed dogs.

"Hi, my name is Doctor Pam Nichols. I'm a veterinarian in Bountiful, Utah, with the Animal Care Center, www.utahanimalcare.com. I'd like to talk to you today about what age is appropriate to breed your miniature Schnauzer.Breeding a miniature Schnauzer is much the same as breeding any other breed of dog, in that you want to wait until the dog is fully mature before starting to breed. So, by two years old, you can start thinking about breeding your dog. By two years of age, your schnauzer or any other breed should be old enough to tell whether she's got the temperament that we want to replicate. The physical characteristics of that breed that we want to pass on to the future generations, and your vet can tell you whether she's healthy enough to breed."
