"Now that you've had your baby, a major concern that you might have is how am I going to lose this baby weight? I'm Carol Ann with Studio Group X, and we're going to talk about how to lose that baby weight. Well the first thing you want to keep in mind is relax, chill out. You've been pregnant now for about ten months, so you're going to think about ten months in, ten months out. So you want to take your time and lose weight gradually. Think about a pound a week. Now a pound is thirty-five hundred calories. So you want to think about maybe reducing your caloric intake, but if you're breastfeeding be very cautious about this. You want to keep your milk supply up. So maybe about seventeen hundred calories to two thousand calories a day is what you're thinking about in terms of your diet but make sure your diet is all healthy. So you want to have a good balance of protein, carbohydrates, and fat. So you don't want to exclude any of your food groups. So that's about your diet, now exercise, get in about three days of cardio exercise so that's swimming, walking, or biking. And you want to make sure that you get in at least two days of resistance training, and you don't need to start off with any heavy weights. You can use your body weight for resistance training. Like push ups, sit ups, Pilates classes are good to attend, even yoga classes are great to attend to build that strength back up. And then incorporate as much stretching as you can, but be gentle on your body because you still have those loose joints and you want to just make sure that you're not overexerting yourself. Make sure that you've been released by your doctor, so if you've had a vaginal birth it will take about four to six weeks to be released by your doctor, or if you've had a C-section about six to eight weeks before you can start getting into a regimented exercise program. So that's how you can get rid of your baby weight and I'm Carol Ann with Studio Group X and good luck on your journey and losing that baby weight."
