Oh, I'm pregnant! How am I going to stay in shape? Hi everybody, I'm Carol Ann with studio groupex, and I'm going to show you to exercise safely during exercise. The number one thing that you need to do consult with your physician. Make sure that you do not have a high risk pregnancy. Number two, the myth is is that exercise increasing your risk for a miscarriage. That is not true. You can definitely exercise safely. And that's actually encouraged to keep yourself healthy and fit for delivery. But you want to make sure that you start off slowly and you never want to exert yourself. Now, if you are already on an exercise program and you become pregnant, continue to follow that same exercise program until you get signals from your body that it's just not comfortable anymore for you. Your body can handle it. You are in shape. OK again, listen to your body. So you are the best monitor of what's going on. Now you want to make sure that you wear loose clothing while you're exercising, make sure that you've got plenty of room to move in. Nothing too tight where it blocks of your circulation. Make sure that you wear good supportive bra. Because you're growing in all different kinds of areas and you want to make sure you're supported. Shoes are very important too. You want to make sure that you've got great ankle support with your shoes. During exercise, make sure you take plenty of breaks, drink lots of water, you never want to exercise in the hot weather. So you got to make sure that you've got plenty of oxygen and your body is able to cool itself properly. And make sure that you're not exercising under unstable surfaces. For example, if you're a mountain biker, and now you're going over terrain that's rocky, you've got a lot of relaxing hormone running through your body now, and your joints a little more loose than normal, so you want to make sure that your surfaces are stable during pregnancy. Now, during your second and your third trimester, you want to try to avoid being on your back, lying down, in a lying down position. You want to try to avoid those positions for any extended period of time. So, make sure that if you're doing any abdominal exercises on your back, that you take a break and then come back again. And then also, lastly, during your pregnancy make sure you take a lot of time for relaxation and some stretching. So take some time for yourself. Meditate, breath, get lots of oxygen in, and enjoy this time. Because that baby is coming, and then you're off and running, so enjoy your pregnancy, make sure you make it a healthy, for one. I'm Carol Ann with studio groupex and make sure you are safe while you're exercising during your pregnancy.
