"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. And today I'm going to show you how to change the resolution settings. In Windows Vista for your monitor. Resolution on a PC means basically, how many pixels can display on the monitor at one time. A pixel is basically a dot. The dot whether be red or green or blue. And a combination of all those dots together will make the images. That you're used to seeing on your monitor. The higher the resolution, the more you can fit on the screen. So let's show you how to change it. Here I'm on my Vista desktop. I'm going to right click on and just go to personalize. In this list of what appears, I want to hit the bottom item. Which is display settings. Display settings will show you all of your individual monitors. This one is blue, meaning it's connected. This one is grayed out, meaning it's not connected. Resolution is this letter red here. And as you can see it's at 800 x 600 pixels. I'm going to bump that up a little bit, to 1024 x 768. Now that I have changed that number. I have to hit, apply. The screen will go blank for a second. And here you can see that with the same windows that I had before. I now have all this other screen real estate. That's because I've increased the resolution. And I can move this one down and still see this window. I just have more room to play with. To change it back, let's go back to your resolution slotter. We went back towards the low end. Let' say it's 800 x 600. This particular one will go up to 1280 x 1024. Let's just keep it safe. 800 x 66. Changing your display settings is a very useful tool for allowing you to open more programs. And seeing more at one time. My name is Dave Andrews. And I've just showed you, how to change your resolution settings in Microsoft Windows Vista."
