"How many babies can a garter snake have and just as a side note because it is just kind of a little personal pet peeve of mine it is garter snake not gardener snake or garden snake. The term garter snake refers to the fact that the snake looks like it is wearing a garter belt because it has a little ring around its neck and some stripes that go down but it is commonly sometimes called a gardener snake or garden in some areas. Well how many babies can a garter snake have? A garter snake can have anywhere between seven and eighty seven babies. So they can have quite a substantial amount of young and you tend to spot them all in one area usually when they do have them. I often go out field herping and usually if you find one baby garter snake you are going to find at least five or six more in that simple area as long as you dig around and look carefully so they tend to stick in the same area for quite a while before they spread out too much and there is nothing cuter than a garter snake baby."
