"The North Carolina Museum of Art's collection spans more than five thousand years, from ancient Egypt to the present day. Admission to the general museum collection is free, and there is one free guided tour per day. Outside the museum, is the museum park, an extensive collection of trails, fields, and woodlands. The one hundred sixty four acres are dotted with outdoor sculptures. The park is also free, and is open during daylight hours. The museum park trails connect with other trails in the city, via the state's longest pedestrian bridge, used to get pedestrian's across the highway. Directly outside the museum building, is the Joseph M. Bryan Jr. theater. The theater, with a twenty seven hundred person capacity, is used during the warmer months, for outdoor concerts, and an annual movie series. The museum is open from Tuesday through Sunday, each week."
