"Are you writing your resume for the first time? My name is Kelly, and I'm here to talk to you about how to format your resume. There's different ways to lay your resume out on the page, but always when it comes to the information, that should be consistent. The best thing to do, is to put your name and your contact information at the top of the page, big and bold, so that you can be identified, by your resume. The next thing, would be to have an objective statement. The objective statement, if you know specifically the position you're looking for, you'd want that to be very defined, and very compact and direct, to the position you're looking for. If you aren't sure about the position you want, a broad statement about the type of position, is a great idea. A good example of that would be, I'd like to be an administrative assistant. If that's your career goal, that's what you should put on there. If you're looking for an opportunity in an office, but you're not sure where you're likely to fit, then you should put on there, that you're looking for an opportunity, in an office environment, in a professional field. Start with your most recent work experience. I would list my most recent experience, with a company name, and the dates of employment. Also, it's good to put the city that you worked in. List the tasks which you did, or the goals or things you accomplished in that organization, and then move down from there. The position before your most recent position, should come next. If there's a gap of employment, I would explain that, when you moved from one position to the next. List all of the experience that you have, but try to keep your resume between one to two pages. Any longer than that, and I'd be concerned that the person wouldn't get to the rest of the resume. If you have references, you can have them available upon request, or you can list them on your actual resume, so again, we've talked about how to format your resume, how to add your contact information, your recent experience, your objective statement, and I hope that's helpful. My name is Kelly, and thanks. Good luck on your job search."
