"When setting up your bike for a cross country race you want to go through the bike and make sure all your gears and everything are shifting properly, your brakes are adjusting right. You want to check the air pressure in your tires and make sure they are filled to the right and proper PSI which is labeled on the side wall of the tire. You want to go through the entire bike and just make sure that it is ready for racing. You want to make sure that everything is tightened up and good to go. Cross country mountain bikes are lightweight, fast off road bikes. Most of them nowadays are coming with aluminum or carbon fiber frames and this one here is aluminum. They are real light weight and the way that they are geared is for going over just about any style of terrain. The difference between a cross country mountain bike like this and a downhill mountain bike would be the way that the whole bike is set up. The geometry on these is a lot different and the suspension on them, this here is full suspension. You have got the shock in the front and the shock in the back to go over a lot more extreme terrain. You are getting bigger disc brakes, a lot more powerful, much larger tires, it is a bike that is made to just go downhill. You are not going to have too much luck going up a hill with something like this."
