"So we've now learned how to construct and play an A flat major scale on the violin. Now let's look at it on the staff paper. Come on. These flats right here, that's what's called a key signature. O.k. It tells you, along the scale. Where you're going to need to put an accidental. Alright. So here we have A flat, o.k. Which is scale degree number one. So we obviously put a scale degree number one, under the A flat. Two is a B flat. O.k. So we put two under there. Three is C natural. Now if you see between three and four, there is a V like shape. O.k. Now that represents a half step. So any half steps you have in a scale, you put a V under it. Five for E flat, six for F natural. Then we put a seven on the G natural. O.k. Remember, we see the V and that represents a half step. So just basically put the regular numbers going from one. Under your first scale degree. And you'll be good to go."
