So now, what I've actually kind of done, is I've started kind of going through here and almost half outline some of the body, like the lines I'm going to be drawing in before I commit myself. So now, let's start to commit. It's time. So, start actually here, starting to draw in and fleshing out the shapes we have. So we have our Superman's main fist coming out. You have his arm, which is connecting down in here up on his very, very muscular shoulder. He is the Man of Steel, after all. And there you can see his arm; his main upper torso incredibly muscular, it can deflect bullets so the rumor says. And you kind of come up on here to his main cape, kind of whirling back over and around here and there's another piece of it flying over here, back part of his shoulder where it's up there counterbalancing. You also have his central insignia right here, right in the middle. Now, since we're sketching in pencil, don't ever worry like, "oh, my goodness, I didn't get it exactly right." Yeah, actually, have you ever really looked at artists' work? It is nothing but a series of different efforts and events and different things like that. The big difference between people who consider themselves artists and those who don't, is that the people who consider themselves artists are in a big secret, that actually, there's a whole lot of mistakes that we make and we're constantly going back over things again and again and again. Normal people, quote/unquote, generally don't understand that and they just think the artist must be able to do this all in one fell swoop. That's not true at all. Is this S perfect? No, it's not. But you know what, I'm going to be able to go back over this in a little bit and I'll make it a little more perfect. Nothing is really ever perfect, no matter how much we'd like to believe. So bring the rest of the cape up over there and we have the beginning of the basic body shape here. Get your belt and now we move to the front area of the face. We see some eyebrows here, drawing in the beginnings. I mean we're just really trying to get beginning hint of the shape of our Superman. You can see the very famous S-curl I'm going to start drawing in here. And, of course, Superman outside of one stint, has always kept his hair very short, with rare exception. And we're going to finish drawing in these details and then we'll be able to move on to more shading.
