"Hi, my name's Joe, and I'm at Breaktime Billiards in Wilmington, North Carolina. Today I'm going to tell you about a game that you and two of your friends can play, so that one of you doesn't have to sit out while the other one plays, such as you would have to do in eight ball. The name of the game is Cut Throat. And what you do is one person will break the balls. One, the person who breaks the balls has one through five. The person who shoots second has six through ten. And the person who shoots third has eleven through fifteen. The object of the game is to get your playing partners balls off of the table and have at least one of yours left. You can shoot any ball. You can shoot your ball into the hole to get a better shot on somebody else's ball. You continue shooting until you miss. When that has happened, then the next man comes up to the table and he starts to shoot. So the whole purpose is to try to get your friends balls off the table before yours are."
